Tools: Illustrator
This page showcases a number of illustrations and graphic work I did as T-shirt designs for my RSO, Illini Pride. As we deal with the sports on campus, a lot of these back the work we do with the student sections and their respected sports, like Block I with football and Orange Krush with basketball. Because of my background and experience, I was mostly the "go-to" person when someone needed a design for their section or an event, so I have racked up some examples exponentially. This collection will most likely grow in the near future so I will have some more works to showcase (if I end up liking them enough.)
Caution: lots of orange and blue ahead.
Sport: Football
Section: Block I
Block I is primarily the section I was involved with, as this most recent year, I was selectively under their board.
This design was made to be put on our student season ticket holder's t-shirts, to which we ordered and gave away all 2,500.
This year marked the 100th anniversary of memorial stadium so that was selectively put on there, as well as the retro "Illinois" helmet that is a throwback in itself. It was incredibly important for it to be legible and clear, simple and stylish, but we wanted to it to look like something we hadn't done before.
Sport: Men's and Women's Basketball
Section: Orange Krush
As Orange Krush is seen as one of the main student sections on campus, as, like Block I, it is a revenue sport, this was once again going to be seen by our large student audience directly associated with those who became season ticket holders. The design on the left was made for the 2023-2024 year, while the one on the right is for 2024-2025. The selection process for these was through a t-shirt contest, which I won the first year, and was reapproached the second year to win again (even though I got a text to make sure I was entering.)
Both designs were made to which we ordered and gave away all 2,000 shirts both years.
This design was a one-off, front pocket and full back design for the University's Dad's Day -- we hadn't done an event like this before, but we had some budget to spare and decided to do something nice from the board to the dad's. We seek to do a Mom's Day design in the Spring, as well.
These designs were also one-offs, the left being our executive board shirt for the year that we would where to selective events, and the fun one on the right being for our Block I roadtrip to the Northwestern Football game. (Got a kick out of the Highschool Musical reference, but had to make it derogatory.)
