Tools: Illustrator, Photoshop, + Procreate
With this branding concept based off a prompt from one of my classes, I was ecstatic to combine my love of art and sports into something for something as large as the Olympic Games. I was assigned Paris 2024 as the city for my concept, in which I would design an entire package of visuals, including branding guidelines, pictogram system, posters, and more deliverables. This was my first real challenge at developing a brand through a longer timeline, but I had a ton of fun and flexibility on how I was able to execute it.
"Embrace the Dream, Illuminate the World" is the motto I chose for this campaign to reflect the feeling of being on one of the world's biggest stages. This graphic features the final logo of the project, although we will go more into detail further down.
This is a replication of the process of creating the logo; I began with linework, combining the Arc de Triomphe with the bottom part jutting out like a tail. Together, these replicated the city shape of Paris. By adding texture to the tail like a brush stroke and then image tracing it in Illustrator, it gave me the authenticity I was looking for while still maintaining the overall shape.
To utilize aspects brought onto our logo, we were pushed to create a series of pictograms that you typically see associated with the sports at the Olympics. As you know, there's actually a huge variety of sports, but I knew I had to cover my favorite ones to wash, which are beach volleyball and swimming. The background of the pictograms is once again the outline of the city of Paris, while the texture of the brush strokes are brought over in the figures.

This banner was actually the first time I tried to legitimately use Photoshop to photoshop a new element into the background -- even now, I'm still a little bit impressed that I managed to do this.
And, because beach volleyball is my favorite, I absolutely had to include the legend Misty May-Treanor.
Rao the Rooster is the mascot I created and illustrated for the Olympics! He's just a silly little guy.
